गुरुणा च मयाप्येष कथितो नृपसत्तम । यथा तत् कथित तत्र नारदेन तथा शृणु,नृपश्रेष्ठ! मेरे गुरु व्यासजीने और मैंने भी यह विषय कहा था; परंतु वहाँ नारदजीने उस विषयका जैसा वर्णन किया था, उसे बताता हूँ, सुनो
guruṇā ca mayāpy eṣa kathito nṛpasattama | yathā tat kathitaṃ tatra nāradena tathā śṛṇu nṛpaśreṣṭha ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Tâu bậc vương giả tối thượng, chính điều này thầy ta (Vyāsa) và cả ta cũng từng thuật lại. Nay, hỡi đấng thống trị ưu việt, xin hãy nghe ta kể lại đúng như Nārada đã trình bày khi ấy.”
