Prāyaścitta and Contextual Non-Culpability (प्रायश्चित्त-निमित्त-अदोषवाद)

कृच्छाद्‌ द्वादशरात्रेण संयतात्मा व्रते स्थित: । परिवेत्ता भवेत्‌ पूत: परिवित्तिस्तथैव च

kṛcchrād dvādaśarātreṇa saṃyatātmā vrate sthitaḥ | parivettā bhavet pūtaḥ parivittis tathaiva ca ||

Vyāsa nói: Người em trai cưới vợ khi anh trai còn chưa lập gia thất, nếu giữ tâm tự chế, kiên định trong lời nguyện và thực hành khổ hạnh Kṛcchra suốt mười hai đêm, thì được thanh tịnh; và người anh trai bị “bỏ qua” cũng được thanh tịnh như vậy.
