Atithi-prāpti and the Brāhmaṇa’s Deliberation on Triadic Dharma (अतिथिप्राप्तिः धर्मत्रयविचारश्च)

स्मृत्वा कालपरीमाण् प्रवृत्ति ये समास्थिता: । दोष: कालपरीमाणे महानेष क्रियावताम्‌

Janamejaya uvāca: smṛtvā kālaparimāṇaṁ pravṛtti ye samāsthitāḥ | doṣaḥ kālaparimāṇe mahān eṣa kriyāvatām ||

Janamejaya nói: Những ai, ghi nhớ một thước đo thời gian cố định, đứng trên con đường hành động hướng ngoại (pravṛtti)—nhắm đến các quả báo hữu hạn theo thời gian như cõi trời—thì mắc một khuyết điểm lớn: đối với kẻ trọng nghiệp, quả của việc làm bị giam trong giới hạn của thời gian, nên hữu hạn và có thể cạn kiệt.
