एकान्तिधर्म-प्रश्नः (Inquiry into Ekāntin Dharma) / The Origin and Practice of Single-Pointed Nārāyaṇa-Centered Discipline

सप्त प्रकृतयो होतास्तथा स्वायम्भुवोडष्टम: । एताभिर्धार्यते लोकस्ताभ्य: शास्त्र विनि:सृतम्‌

saptaprakṛtayo hotās tathā svāyambhuvo ’ṣṭamaḥ | etābhir dhāryate lokas tābhyaḥ śāstra-viniḥsṛtam ||

Bhīṣma nói: “Có bảy yếu tính căn nguyên (prakṛti), và yếu tính thứ tám là Svāyambhuva (Brahmā). Nhờ các yếu tính ấy mà thế gian được nâng đỡ, và từ đó các giáo điển có thẩm quyền (śāstra) đã phát xuất. Các bậc hiền triết ấy nhất tâm, tự chế, chuyên cần kỷ luật, biết rõ quá khứ, vị lai và hiện tại, và kiên định trong chân thật cùng dharma.”
