धनेन कि यन्न ददाति नाश्रुते बलेन कि येन रिपुं न बाधते । श्रुतेन कि येन न धर्ममाचरेत् किमात्मना यो न जितेन्द्रियो वशी
dhanena kiṁ yan na dadāti nāśrute balena kiṁ yena ripuṁ na bādhate | śrutena kiṁ yena na dharmam ācaret kim ātmanā yo na jitendriyo vaśī ||
Vyāsa nói: Của cải có ích gì nếu không bố thí? Học vấn có ích gì nếu không lắng nghe và ghi nhận? Sức mạnh có ích gì nếu không kiềm chế và khuất phục kẻ thù? Tri thức kinh điển có ích gì nếu không thực hành dharma? Và cái “ngã” có ích gì nơi kẻ chưa thắng được các giác quan, chưa đạt tự chủ?
