देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
संचिन्वानकमेवैनं कामानामवितृप्तकम् । वृकीवोरणमासाद्य मृत्युरादाय गच्छति,मनुष्य भोगसामग्रियोंके संचयमें लगा ही रहता है और उनसे तृप्त भी नहीं होने पाता है कि भेड़के बच्चेको उठा ले जानेवाली बाघिनकी भाँति मौत उसे अपनी दाढ़में दबाकर चल देती है
sañcinvānakam evainaṁ kāmānām atṛptakam | vṛkīva uraṇam āsādya mṛtyur ādāya gacchati ||
Vyāsa nói: Con người cứ mải tích góp những phương tiện hưởng thụ mà vẫn chẳng bao giờ thỏa mãn. Rồi Tử thần, như sói cái chộp lấy con chiên non, ập đến và tha hắn đi—cho thấy lòng tham và sự tích lũy không kết thúc trong viên mãn, mà trong mất mát đột ngột.
