Impermanence, Svabhāva, and Śuka’s Resolve for Yoga
ततो<नुचिन्तयमहं भूयो देवीं सरस्वतीम् । मनसा स च मे प्रश्नो दध्नो घृतमिवोद्धृतम्
tato'nucintayamaham bhūyo devīṃ sarasvatīm | manasā sa ca me praśno dadhno ghṛtam ivoddhṛtam ||
Rồi ta lại hướng tâm tưởng niệm nữ thần Sarasvatī. Bấy giờ, như bơ tinh luyện được rút ra từ sữa chua, lời đáp cho câu hỏi ấy liền hiện lên rõ ràng từ bên trong—sinh bởi quán niệm và ân phúc của minh triêng liêng.

True understanding is not merely collected from outside; it is clarified through sustained contemplation and the refining power of wisdom (here invoked as Sarasvatī). As ghee is extracted from curd, insight is ‘drawn out’ from the mind when it is properly churned by reflection and guided by learning.
Yājñavalkya says that after again mentally invoking and contemplating Sarasvatī, the resolution of his inquiry emerged clearly. The verse uses a domestic, vivid metaphor—ghee arising from curd—to describe how an answer becomes manifest after inner churning and divine/intellectual inspiration.
