Śuka’s Manifestation from the Araṇi (Āraṇeya-janma) — शुकजन्म (आरणेय-सम्भव)
इहैव परिवर्तन्ते तिर्यग्योनिप्रवेशिन: । त्रीणि कल्पसहस्राणि एतेषामहरुच्यते
ihaiva parivartante tiryagyonipraveśinaḥ | trīṇi kalpasahasrāṇi eteṣām ahar ucyate ||
Những kẻ đã rơi vào thai loài súc sinh cứ quay vòng ngay tại cõi này, hết lần này đến lần khác. Với hạng ấy, người ta nói rằng một “ngày” dài bằng ba nghìn kiếp—một hình ảnh để gợi tả thời lượng mênh mông, nặng nề của sự trói buộc và cái giá đạo đức nghiệt ngã của việc sa đọa xuống cảnh giới phi nhân.
