Educational Q&A

The verse criticizes the tendency to trivialize serious matters: a person repeatedly falls into the habit of treating life, duty, or moral consequence as mere entertainment, which signals ethical carelessness and delusion.

Vasiṣṭha is commenting on someone’s recurring mindset—describing how, as in the past, he again and again ‘considers it play,’ implying a repeated failure to learn or to adopt a sober, dharmic perspective.
