अध्याय २८६ — पराशर-उपदेशः

Ethical Restraint, Mortality, and Karma

अर्थकामोौ परित्यज्य विशोको विगतज्वर: । तृष्णामोहौ तु संत्यज्य चरामि पृथिवीमिमाम्‌,अर्थ और कामको त्यागकर एवं तृष्णा और मोहका सर्वथा परित्याग करके मैं शोक और संतापसे रहित हुआ इस पृथ्वीपर विचरता हूँ

arthakāmau parityajya viśoko vigatajvaraḥ | tṛṣṇāmohau tu saṃtyajya carāmi pṛthivīm imām ||

Đã từ bỏ của cải và dục lạc, không còn sầu não, dứt cơn bứt rứt nóng nảy; lại hoàn toàn lìa bỏ khát ái và mê lầm, nay ta thong dong du hành trên mặt đất này trong sự an nhiên nội tại.
