पूर्वोपायोपपन्नेन मार्गण वरवर्णिनि | न मे सुरा: प्रयच्छन्ति भागं यज्ञस्य धर्मत:,सुन्दरि! पूर्वनिश्चित नियमके अनुसार धर्मकी दृष्टिसे ही देवतालोग यज्ञमें मुझे भाग नहीं अर्पित करते हैं
pūrvopāyopapannena mārgaṇa varavarṇini | na me surāḥ prayacchanti bhāgaṃ yajñasya dharmataḥ, sundari ||
Maheśvara nói: “Hỡi người đẹp da ngà, dẫu ta đã được tìm cầu theo đúng phương cách đã định từ thuở xưa, các chư thiên—bám vào điều họ cho là quy tắc của dharma—vẫn không dâng cho ta phần đáng được hưởng trong lễ tế.”
