भीष्म उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम्‌ । गीत॑ विदेहराजेन माण्डव्यायानुपृच्छते

Transliteration

bhīṣma uvāca | atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | gītaṃ videharājena māṇḍavyāyānupṛcchate ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Ở đây nữa, bậc học giả thường dẫn một điển tích xưa. Khi hiền giả Māṇḍavya hỏi, vua xứ Videha là Janaka đã thốt ra lời dạy để đáp; câu chuyện cổ ấy được nhắc lại như một ví dụ vào những dịp như thế này.”
