Viṣṇor Māhātmya and Indriya-saṃyama (विष्णोर्माहात्म्यं तथा इन्द्रियसंयमः)

एवमुक्ता निवृत्ता सा प्रविष्टा यज्ञपावकम्‌ । कि नु दुश्चरितं यज्ञे दिदृक्षु: सा रसातलम्‌,ब्राह्मणसे इस प्रकार कोरा जवाब मिल जानेपर सावित्रीदेवी लौट पड़ीं और यज्ञाग्निमें प्रविष्ट हो गयीं। यज्ञमें कौन-सा दुष्कर्म या त्रुटि है--यही देखनेकी इच्छासे वे आयी थीं और फिर रसातलमें चली गयीं

evam uktā nivṛttā sā praviṣṭā yajñapāvakam | ki nu duścaritaṁ yajñe didṛkṣuḥ sā rasātalam ||

Nghe đáp như vậy, nàng dừng lại và quay đi; rồi nàng bước vào lửa tế. Nàng đến với ý muốn xem trong lễ tế có điều ác hay sai sót nào chăng; và sau đó nàng đi xuống Rasātala.
