चिरकारि-उपाख्यानम् / The Exemplum of Cirakārī: Deliberation Before Irreversible Action
न हात्यन्तं बलवन्तो भवन्ति सुखिनो5पि वा | तस्मादनार्जवे बुद्धिर्न कार्या ते कदाचन
na hātyantaṃ balavanto bhavanti sukhino 'pi vā | tasmād anārjave buddhir na kāryā te kadācana ||
Bhīṣma nói: Ở đời này, không ai mãi mãi giữ được quyền lực tột bậc, cũng không ai mãi mãi hưởng hạnh phúc quá mức. Vì vậy, con chớ bao giờ để tâm trí nghiêng về sự quanh co hay bất tín; hãy giữ sự phán đoán trong sạch, không vướng mưu trá, bởi mưu trá rốt cuộc dẫn đến suy vong chứ không đem lại lợi lộc bền lâu.
