वार्षिक संचयं केचित्‌ केचिद्‌ द्वादशवार्षिकम्‌ । कुर्वन्त्यतिथिपूजार्थ यज्ञतन्त्रार्थमेव वा

Transliteration

vārṣika-saṃcayaṃ kecit kecid dvādaśa-vārṣikam | kurvanty atithi-pūjārthaṃ yajña-tantrārtham eva vā ||

Translation

Vyāsa nói: Có người tích trữ lương thực cho một năm, có người lại tích đủ cho mười hai năm. Nhưng sự tích lũy ấy không vì tham dục, mà vì mục đích chính đáng—để tiếp đãi khách lữ (atithi) và để các bổn phận tế lễ (yajña) được cử hành chu toàn.
