ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana
River-of-Saṃsāra Metaphor
न चेदमचलं स्थानमनन्तं वापि कस्यचित् । त्वं तु बालिशया बुद्धया ममेदमिति मन््यसे
na cedam acalaṁ sthānam anantaṁ vāpi kasyacit | tvaṁ tu bāliśayā buddhyā mamedam iti manyase ||
Bhishma nói: Địa vị này không bất động, cũng chẳng vô tận đối với bất kỳ ai. Thế mà ngươi, với trí hiểu trẻ dại và mê lầm, lại tưởng: “Đây là của ta.” Ngay cả ngôi bá chủ của Indra cũng chưa từng chứng tỏ là vĩnh cửu; bao kẻ đã nắm giữ rồi cũng lần lượt qua đi. Vì vậy, đừng bám víu quyền lực như một sở hữu—hãy nhận ra tính vô thường của nó và hành xử với khiêm cung cùng dharma.
