तपो ह्ाथधिष्ठितं देवैस्तपोघ्नमसुरैस्तम: । एतद्‌ देवासुरैर्गुप्तं तदाहुरज्ञनलक्षणम्‌

Transliteration

tapo hy ādhisthitaṁ devais tapoghnaṁ asurais tamaḥ | etad devāsurair guptaṁ tad āhur ajñāna-lakṣaṇam ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: Chư thiên an lập trong khổ hạnh, còn loài asura nương tựa vào bóng tối phá hoại khổ hạnh—như giả dối, kiêu mạn và những xung lực ngăn trở. Nhưng thực tại tối thượng vẫn bị che khuất đối với cả chư thiên lẫn asura; bậc trí chân thật nói rằng chính sự che khuất ấy là dấu hiệu của vô minh.
