ततस्तमुपसर्पन्ति गुणा राजसतामसा: । सात्त्विका वा यथायोगमानन्तर्यफलोदयम्,उस स्वप्नरका दर्शन होते ही सात्विक, राजस अथवा तामस गुण यथायोग्य सुख- दुःखरूप फलका अनुभव करानेके लिये उसके पास आ पहुँचते हैं
tatastam upasarpanti guṇā rājasatāmasāḥ | sāttvikā vā yathāyogam ānantarya-phalodayam ||
Bhīṣma nói: Rồi sau đó, các guṇa—sattva, rajas và tamas—đến gần người ấy tùy theo căn tính của họ, khiến quả báo tương ứng trỗi dậy tức thời, được cảm nhận như lạc hay khổ (như những cảnh mộng mị hoặc cảnh địa ngục).
