गुणैर्यस्त्ववरैर्युक्त: कथं विद्यात्‌ परान्‌ गुणान्‌ । अनुमानाद्धि गन्तव्यं गुणैरवयवै: परम्‌

Transliteration

guṇair yas tv avarair yuktaḥ kathaṃ vidyāt parān guṇān | anumānād dhi gantavyaṃ guṇair avayavaiḥ param ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Kẻ bị trói buộc trong những phẩm tính thấp kém thì làm sao biết được những phẩm tính cao cả? Đấng Tối Thượng phải được tiếp cận bằng suy luận: như lửa được suy ra từ khói, cũng vậy, bản tính của Brahman Tối Thượng được thoáng thấy qua những thuộc tính và dấu hiệu biểu hiện của Ngài.”
