रश्मीस्तेषां स मनसा यदा सम्यड्नियच्छति । तदा प्रकाशते<स्यात्मा घटे दीपो ज्वलन्निव
raśmīs teṣāṃ sa manasā yadā samyaṅ niyacchati | tadā prakāśate 'syātmā ghaṭe dīpo jvalann iva ||
Bhīṣma nói: Khi con người dùng tâm mà điều phục đúng đắn các “dòng tia” của giác quan, thì Tự Ngã trong họ bừng sáng—như ngọn đèn cháy vững trong chiếc bình. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh kỷ luật nội tâm: sự làm chủ đạo đức khởi từ việc chế ngự các căn bằng một tâm được hướng dẫn ngay thẳng; từ sự chế ngự ấy phát sinh ánh sáng tự tri, chứ không phải phô bày ra ngoài.
