जड़मानामसंख्येया: स्थावराणां च जातय: । तेषां विविधवर्णानां कुतो वर्णविनिश्चय:
jaḍamānām asaṅkhyeyāḥ sthāvarāṇāṃ ca jātayaḥ | teṣāṃ vividhavarṇānāṃ kuto varṇaviniścayaḥ ||
Bharadvāja nói: “Các loài thuộc chúng sinh hữu động—thú, chim, người—và cả loài bất động như cây cối, có vô số giống loại. Màu sắc của chúng cũng muôn hình. Vậy làm sao có thể quyết định ‘varṇa’ một cách cố định chỉ dựa vào đó?”
