न तृप्ति: प्रियलाभे<स्ति तृष्णा नाद्धि: प्रशाम्यति । सम्प्रज्वलति सा भूय: समिद्धिरिव पावक:
na tṛptiḥ priyalābhe 'sti tṛṣṇā nāddhiḥ praśāmyati | samprajvalati sā bhūyaḥ samiddhir iva pāvakaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Con người không bao giờ thỏa mãn khi đạt được điều mình yêu thích; lòng khát ái không bị dập tắt bởi những gì đã có. Trái lại, nó bùng lên hết lần này đến lần khác—như ngọn lửa càng dữ dội khi được thêm củi.”
