Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)
आशयन्त्यपि मामन्न॑ पुनर्बहुगुणं बहु । पुनरल्पं पुन:स्तोकं पुनर्नैवोपपद्यते
āśayanty api mām annaṃ punar bahuguṇaṃ bahu | punar alpaṃ punaḥ stokaṃ punar naivopapadyate ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Dẫu đang được người chăm nom, vẫn có kẻ hết lần này đến lần khác đem đến cho ta nhiều thức ăn dồi dào, đủ mọi phẩm chất. Nhưng có lúc ta chỉ nhận được chút ít—đôi khi chỉ là một miếng—và có lúc ngay cả thế cũng không. Bởi vậy, điều đến với con người trong đời vốn thất thường và bất định.”
