मृत्यु-काल-प्रबोधनम् (Instruction on Mortality, Time, and Truth) — Mahābhārata, Śānti-parva 169
संगृह्नन्तः परिजन स्वाम्यर्थपरमा: सदा । ईदृशै: पुरुषश्रेष्ठैर्य: संधि कुरुते नृप:
saṅgṛhṇantaḥ parijana svāmyarthaparamāḥ sadā | īdṛśaiḥ puruṣaśreṣṭhair yaḥ sandhi kurute nṛpaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Những người biết giữ cho quyến thuộc và kẻ theo hầu được đoàn kết, luôn đặt lợi ích của chủ mình lên trên hết. Hỡi vua, ai kết minh ước với những bậc trượng phu ưu tú như vậy thì có được một giao ước đặt nền trên lòng trung tín và sự nâng đỡ bền vững.
