Educational Q&A

Lack of self-restraint (over senses and mind) leads to recurring suffering, and personal vices do not remain isolated—they generate further harms and complications, expanding one’s misery.

In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and right conduct, Bhishma is teaching about inner discipline, warning that an ungoverned inner life becomes the source of continual distress and cascading misfortunes.
