अनिर्वेद: सदा कार्यों निर्वेदाद्धि कुतः सुखम्‌ । प्रयत्नात्‌ प्राप्यते हार्थ: कस्माद्‌ गच्छथ निर्दयम्‌

jambuka uvāca | anirvedaḥ sadā kāryo nirvedād dhi kutaḥ sukham | prayatnāt prāpyate hy arthaḥ kasmād gacchatha nirdayam ||

Jambuka nói: “Người ta phải luôn nuôi dưỡng sự bền chí, không để lòng chìm trong nản chí; bởi từ u sầu thì hạnh phúc nào sinh ra được? Mục tiêu mong cầu chỉ đạt được nhờ nỗ lực. Vậy sao các ngươi lại bỏ đi—một cách tàn nhẫn—mà buông bỏ việc cố gắng bảo vệ đứa trẻ này?”
