Dasyu-maryādā and Buddhi-guided Rāja-nīti (दस्युमर्यादा तथा बुद्धिप्रधान-राजनीति)
ददर्श त॑ पक्षिसुतं बाल्यादागत्य बालक: । ततो बाल्याच्च यत्नेन तेनाक्रीडत पक्षिणा
dadārśa taṁ pakṣi-sutaṁ bālyād āgatya bālakaḥ | tato bālyāc ca yatnena tenākrīḍata pakṣiṇā ||
Bhishma nói: Cậu bé nhỏ, vì tò mò theo bản tính trẻ thơ, bước tới và nhìn thấy chim non. Rồi theo những thôi thúc của tuổi ấu thơ, cậu cố gắng hết sức để chơi đùa với con chim. Cảnh ấy cho thấy: trò chơi ngây thơ, khi đi cùng sự chăm giữ và tự chế, trở thành phép thử cho ý thức trách nhiệm đang hình thành đối với những sinh linh yếu ớt.
