न त्वन्यामिह मार्जाराद्‌ गतिं पश्यामि साम्प्रतम्‌ । विषमस्थो हायं शत्रु: कृत्यं चास्य महन्मया

Transliteration

na tv anyām iha mārjārād gatiṁ paśyāmi sāmpratam | viṣamastho hāyaṁ śatruḥ kṛtyaṁ cāsya mahan mayā ||

Translation

Bhīṣma nói: “Ngay lúc này ta không thấy con đường nào khác cho mình ngoài việc nương vào con mèo ấy. Dẫu nó quả là kẻ thù cay nghiệt của ta, nhưng hiện giờ chính nó cũng mắc vào cảnh ngặt nghèo; và nhờ ta, nó cũng có thể nhận được một ân nghĩa lớn.”
