Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
यो हामित्रैर्नरो नित्यं न संदध्यादपण्डित: । न सो<र्थ प्राप्रुयात् किंचित् फलान्यपि च भारत
yo hy amitrair naro nityaṃ na sandadhyād apaṇḍitaḥ | na so 'rthaṃ prāpnuyāt kiṃcit phalāny api ca bhārata ||
Bhishma nói: Hỡi Bharata, kẻ ngu dại, trong mọi hoàn cảnh, cứ khăng khăng không chịu thỏa hiệp hay lập ước ngay cả với kẻ thù, thì chẳng thể thành tựu mục đích nào, cũng không gặt được kết quả. Trong việc trị nước và xử thế, thù hằn cứng nhắc, không biết hòa hoãn đúng lúc, sẽ phá hỏng chính ý đồ của mình.
