अकाले हि समर्थस्य स्नेहहेतुरयं तव । तस्मान्नाहं चले स्वार्थात् सुस्थिर: संधिविग्रहे
akāle hi samarthasya snehahētur ayaṁ tava | tasmān nāhaṁ cale svārthāt susthiraḥ saṁdhivigrahē ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Dẫu ngươi có đủ năng lực, nhưng sự âu yếm trái thời dành cho ta đây lấy tư lợi làm động cơ. Vì thế, ta cũng không thể rời bỏ lợi ích của chính mình; quyết ý của ta về hòa hiếu và đối địch đã vững chắc, định rồi.”
