दीर्घदर्शी–दीर्घसूत्र–संप्रतिपत्तिमान् आख्यानम्

The Parable of Foresight, Procrastination, and Presence of Mind

ब्रह्मक्षत्रं सम्प्रविशेद्‌ बहु कृत्वा सुदुष्करम्‌ । उच्चमानो हि लोकेन बहुकृत्‌ तदचिन्तयन्‌

brahmakṣatraṁ sampraviśed bahu kṛtvā suduṣkaram | uccamāno hi lokena bahukṛt tad acintayan ||

Bhishma nói: “Sau khi đã thực hành nhiều việc cực kỳ khó nhọc, hãy để người ấy bước vào phạm vi của giới Bà-la-môn và Sát-đế-lỵ. Dẫu thiên hạ chê trách và gọi người ấy là kẻ đại tội, người ấy cũng chớ ôm lòng day dứt; trái lại, nhờ làm nhiều công đức và giữ những kỷ luật nghiêm khắc, người ấy trở nên xứng đáng để được tiếp nhận giữa hàng Bà-la-môn và Sát-đế-lỵ.”
