स्थापयेदेव मर्यादां जनचित्तप्रसादिनीम् । अल्पे>प्यर्थे च मर्यादा लोके भवति पूजिता
sthāpayet eva maryādāṃ janacitta-prasādinīm | alpe 'py arthe ca maryādā loke bhavati pūjitā ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Một vị vua phải thiết lập maryādā—những ranh giới và chuẩn mực hành xử đúng đắn—để làm cho lòng dân được an hòa và mãn nguyện. Ở đời, dù việc nhỏ đến đâu, chính sự đúng mực và trật tự (maryādā) mới là điều được tôn trọng.”
