व्यवसायं समाधाय सूर्यो रश्मीनिवायतान् | धर्ममेवाभिरक्षेत कृत्वा तुल्ये प्रियाप्रिये
vyavasāyaṃ samādhāya sūryo raśmīn ivāyatān | dharmam evābhirakṣeta kṛtvā tulye priyāpriye ||
Bhīṣma nói: Vua phải kiên định lập chí—như mặt trời dang rộng những tia sáng xa khắp—và chỉ bảo hộ dharma, coi điều ưa và điều ghét là ngang nhau. Với nỗ lực bền bỉ và sự vô tư, vua phải lấy chính đạo làm bổn phận tối thượng, che chở muôn dân mà không bị lay chuyển bởi tình riêng hay ác cảm.
