भक्तो<नुरक्त: सततमुपवासकृशोडबल: । फलमूलोदकाहार: शान्त: शिष्टाकृतिर्यथा

bhakto 'nuraktaḥ satatam upavāsa-kṛśo 'balāḥ | phala-mūlodakāhāraḥ śāntaḥ śiṣṭākṛtir yathā ||

Bhishma nói: “Ông ấy là kẻ theo hầu sùng tín, luôn gắn bó trong lòng trung thành; thân hình gầy mòn và suy kiệt vì nhịn ăn. Chỉ sống bằng trái cây, rễ cây và nước, ông vẫn tự chế, an hòa, cư xử đúng mực như bậc hiền thiện.”
