Upāya-dharma and Senāyoga: Expedient Ethics & Army Deployment
न संनिपाते प्रदरं वर्ध॑ वा कुर्युरीदृशा: । आत्मानं च स्वपक्षं च पालयन् हन्ति संयुगे
na sannipāte pradaraṁ vardha vā kuryur īdṛśāḥ | ātmānaṁ ca svapakṣaṁ ca pālayan hanti saṁyuge ||
Bhishma nói: “Hạng người ấy, giữa vòng vây chật chội của chiến trận, không thể phá vỡ và làm tan hàng ngũ quân thù, cũng chẳng thể thực sự giết được chúng. Chỉ có chiến sĩ dũng mãnh, vừa giữ mình vừa che chở phe mình, mới có thể tiêu diệt kẻ địch trong giao chiến.”
