गान्धारीसहितकश्नैव कां गतिं प्रतिपत्स्यति । “पुत्रों और पौत्रोंकी बिलखती हुई बहुओंके साथ मेरे बूढ़े पिता राजा धृतराष्ट्र माता गान्धारीसहित किस अवस्थाको पहुँच जायँगे?
gāndhārī-sahitakaś caiva kāṃ gatiṃ pratipatsyati |
Sañjaya nói: “Vậy cùng với Gāndhārī, ông ấy sẽ đạt đến trạng thái hay kết cục nào?” Sau thảm họa Kurukṣetra, câu hỏi ấy gợi lên hậu quả đạo đức và hiện sinh của chiến tranh: khi dòng dõi đã tan nát và hoàng cung chỉ còn tiếng khóc than, thì lão vương Dhṛtarāṣṭra và hoàng hậu của ông sẽ đi về đâu.
