Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)

The verse highlights kṣānti (forbearance) and disciplined self-restraint: even those capable of power may accept hardship and apparent helplessness to protect a vow, uphold dharma, and complete a necessary course without compromising integrity.
Vaiśampāyana recalls how the protagonists (the Pāṇḍavas) lived in concealment, adopting many disguises during their incognito period, and how they endured numerous additional hardships continuously, as if they were powerless, while remaining committed to their path.
