Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)
भ्रातृभि: समयं कृत्वा क्षान्तवान् धर्मवत्सल: । द्यूतच्छलजितै: शुद्धैर्वनवासो हुपागतः,“धर्मवत्सल युधिष्ठिरने अपने भाइयोंके साथ नियत समयकी प्रतीक्षा करते हुए सारा कष्ट चुपचाप सहन किया था। पाण्डव शुद्धभावसे आपके पास आये थे तो भी उन्हें कपट॒पूर्वक जूएमें हराकर वनवास दिया गया
bhrātṛbhiḥ samayaṃ kṛtvā kṣāntavān dharmavatsalaḥ | dyūtacchalajitaiḥ śuddhair vanavāso hy upāgataḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Yudhiṣṭhira, người yêu mến dharma, đã cùng các em lập giao ước và chờ hết kỳ hạn đã định, nhẫn nại chịu đựng mọi khổ nhọc. Thế nhưng những người lòng dạ trong sạch ấy lại bị đánh bại bằng mưu mẹo cờ bạc, và vì vậy án lưu đày vào rừng đã giáng xuống họ.”
