Śalya’s Consecration as Senāpati and Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira (शल्यस्य सेनापत्यभिषेकः)
ततो दुर्योधन: स्थित्वा रथे रथवरोत्तमम् । सर्वयुद्धविभावज्ञमन्तकप्रतिमं युधि
tato duryodhanaḥ sthitvā rathe rathavarottamam | sarvayuddhavibhāvajñam antakapratimaṃ yudhi | tam abhyetya ātmajastubhyaṃ aśvatthāmānam abravīt ||
Sañjaya nói: Bấy giờ Duryodhana đứng vững trên cỗ chiến xa tuyệt hảo của mình và tiến đến gần Aśvatthāmā—người thấu hiểu mọi thế trận, mọi biến hóa của chiến tranh, và trong giao chiến thì đáng sợ như Thần Chết. Đến bên ông, con trai của ngài liền cất lời với Aśvatthāmā như sau.
