गदायुद्ध-समारम्भः

Commencement of the Mace-Duel Proceedings

त॑ देशमगमद्‌ यत्र श्रीमान्‌ रामो व्यवस्थित: । प्रत्युत्थाय च त॑ सम्पक्‌ पूजयित्वा यतव्रतम्‌

taṁ deśam agamad yatra śrīmān rāmo vyavasthitaḥ | pratyutthāya ca taṁ samyak pūjayitvā yatavrataṁ ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: Ngài đi đến nơi Rāma lẫm liệt đang đóng quân. Rāma đứng dậy nghênh đón và cung kính tôn lễ bậc tự chế ấy—bày tỏ phép tắc tôn trọng dành cho đức hạnh và sự tiết độ, dẫu giữa sức ép của chiến tranh.

Educational Q&A

Proper conduct (dharma) is shown through respectful greeting and honoring the virtuous—especially those marked by self-restraint (yatavrata). Social and ethical order is maintained by recognizing merit and discipline.

A person goes to the location where Rāma is positioned, rises to greet him, and offers due honor, indicating formal reception and reverence toward a disciplined figure.
