तैजसं नाम तत् तीर्थ यत्र पूर्वमपां पति: । अभिषिक्त: सुरगणैर्वरुणो भरतर्षभ,भरतश्रेष्ठ)]ी वह तैजस नामका तीर्थ है, जहाँ पहले जलके स्वामी वरुणदेवका देवताओंद्वारा अभिषेक किया गया था
taijasaṃ nāma tat tīrthaṃ yatra pūrvam apāṃ patiḥ | abhiṣiktaḥ suragaṇair varuṇo bharatarṣabha ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Bến thiêng ấy gọi là Taijasa. Thuở xưa, tại đó, Varuṇa—chúa tể của thủy giới—đã được hội chư thần làm lễ quán đỉnh, hỡi bậc tráng kiện nhất trong dòng Bharata.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the sanctity of tīrthas by linking them to divine events: a place becomes ethically and spiritually significant when it is associated with the establishment of cosmic order and rightful authority (here symbolized by Varuṇa’s consecration by the gods).
Vaiśampāyana identifies a particular pilgrimage site named Taijasa and explains its origin-story: in former times, the gods performed Varuṇa’s ritual consecration there, marking the spot as a revered tīrtha.
