Resolve for the Mace Duel

सर्वो विमृशते जन्तुः कृच्छुस्थो धर्मदर्शनम्‌ । पदस्थ: पिद्ठितं द्वारं परलोकस्य पश्यति

sarvo vimṛśate jantuḥ kṛcchrastho dharmadarśanam | padasthaḥ pihitaṃ dvāraṃ paralokasya paśyati ||

Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Mọi loài hữu tình, khi lâm cảnh khốn cùng, đều suy ngẫm và vin vào dharma để tự bảo hộ. Nhưng khi đã đứng vững trong quyền thế và địa vị, người ta lại thấy cánh cửa sang đời sau như bị khép kín—quên mất đòi hỏi của chính nghĩa cho đến khi tai ương trở lại.”
