शल्यस्य पाण्डवसेनापीडनम् — Śalya’s Assault on the Pāṇḍava Host
with Omens and Bhīma’s Counter
मद्रराजं तु समरे दृष्टवा युद्धाय धिष्ठितम् । कुरव: संन्यवर्तन्त मृत्युं कृत्वा निवर्तनम्,समरांगणमें मद्रराज शल्यको युद्धके लिये डटा हुआ देख कौरव-सैनिक मृत्युको ही युद्धसे निवृत्तिकी सीमा नियत करके पुनः रणभूमिमें लौट आये
madrarājaṃ tu samare dṛṣṭvā yuddhāya dhiṣṭhitam | kuravaḥ saṃnyavartanta mṛtyuṃ kṛtvā nivartanam ||
Nhưng khi quân Kuru thấy vua xứ Madra, Śalya, đứng vững giữa chiến trường, sẵn sàng giao chiến, họ liền quay trở lại—lấy cái chết làm ranh giới của sự rút lui—và trở vào chiến địa lần nữa.
