Educational Q&A

The passage links moral merit (puṇya) and inner purity with proximity to divine justice: the virtuous—royal seers and brahmarṣis—joyfully honor Yama, portraying dharma not as fear but as reverent alignment with cosmic order.

Nārada describes a blessed setting where pleasant waters are ever available and where virtuous sages and saintly kings sit contentedly, worshipping Yama Vaivasvata (the Sun’s son), emphasizing the honor accorded to the divine judge by the righteous.
