(Yamasabhā-varṇanam) — Nārada’s Description of Dharmarāja’s Assembly
The verse highlights that extraordinary achievements—even in worldly domains like royal architecture—are grounded in sustained discipline (tapas) and skilled craftsmanship. It also frames splendor as something earned through effort and divine artistry, not mere chance.
Nārada is describing the remarkable qualities of a royal assembly hall to Pārtha (Arjuna): it is spacious and unobstructed, pleasing to behold, and designed so that movement within it is effortless and according to one’s wish; it was constructed by Viśvakarman after long austerities.
