Educational Q&A

Prosperity and political power are framed as auspicious when aligned with dharma; true imperial success is measured not only by sovereignty but by the enhancement of a righteous lineage’s reputation through ethical rule.

The narrator Vaiśampāyana offers a formal congratulation to a newly elevated ruler, praising his attainment of imperial status and stating that his achievement has increased the fame of the Ājamīḍha-descended royal line.
