अध्याय १: महाप्रस्थानारम्भः

The Commencement of the Great Departure

अर्जुनस्य मतं ज्ञात्वा भीमसेनो यमौ तथा । अन्वपद्यन्त तद्‌ वाक्‍्यं यदुक्ते सव्यसाचिना

arjunasya mataṁ jñātvā bhīmaseno yamau tathā | anvapadyanta tad vākyaṁ yad ukte savyasācinā ||

Hiểu rõ ý định của Arjuna, Bhīmasena cùng hai người em song sinh cũng tán đồng lời mà “Savyasācin” (bậc thiện xạ dùng cả hai tay) Arjuna đã nói, và cùng bước theo chính con đường ấy.
