तत्रास्त्रसंघातसमावृतं तदा बभूव राजंस्तुमुलं सम सर्वतः । तत् कर्णपार्थो शरवृष्टिसंघै- निरिन्तरं चक्रतुरम्बरं तदा,नरेश्वरर उस समय वहाँ अस्त्रसमूहोंसे आच्छादित होकर सारा प्रदेश सब ओरसे भयंकर प्रतीत होने लगा। कर्ण और अर्जुनने अपने बाणोंकी वर्षसिे आकाशको ठसाठस भर दिया
tatrāstrasaṅghātasamāvṛtaṃ tadā babhūva rājan tumulaṃ samaṃ sarvataḥ | tat karṇapārtho śaravṛṣṭisaṅghair nirantaraṃ cakratur ambaram tadā ||
Sañjaya nói: Tâu Đại vương, khi ấy cả vùng đất bị che phủ bởi vô số phi tiễn, trông đâu cũng đồng một vẻ ghê rợn. Bấy giờ Karṇa và Arjuna, bằng những trận mưa tên không dứt, đã làm cho bầu trời đặc kín, như bị nhồi chặt liên miên.
