अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः

उपतिष्ठस्व भर्तारिमन्यं वा वरवर्णिनि । इत्येवं यः पुरा वाचो रूक्षाश्नाआरवयद्‌ रुषा

Transliteration

upatiṣṭhasva bhartārim anyaṁ vā varavarṇini | ityevaṁ yaḥ purā vāco rūkṣāś cārvayad ruṣā ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Hỡi người nữ da trắng đẹp, hãy hầu hạ chồng mình—hoặc nếu muốn, hãy theo một người chồng khác.” Thuở trước, trong cơn giận, hắn đã thốt ra những lời thô bạo như thế, làm nàng đau đớn vì lời nói cộc cằn.
