बलाहकेनेव महाबलाहको यदृच्छया वा गिरिणा यथा गिरि: । तथा धनुर्ज्यातलनेमिनिस्वनै: समीयतुस्ताविषुवर्षवर्षिणौ,जैसे महान् मेघ किसी दूसरे मेघके साथ अथवा दैवेच्छासे एक पर्वत दूसरे पर्वतके साथ टक्कर लेनेके लिये उद्यत हो, उसी प्रकार धनुषकी प्रत्यंचा, हथेली तथा रथके पहियोंकी गम्भीर ध्वनिके साथ बाणोंकी वर्षा करते हुए वे दोनों वीर एक-दूसरेके सामने आये
balāhakeneva mahābalāhako yadṛcchayā vā giriṇā yathā giriḥ | tathā dhanurjyātalaneminisvanaiḥ samīyatus tāv iṣuvarṣavarṣiṇau ||
Sanjaya thưa: Như mây lớn gặp mây lớn, hoặc như núi này theo vận mệnh xô đẩy lao tới va núi kia, cũng vậy hai dũng sĩ—trút xuống mưa tên—tiến đến đối mặt nhau giữa những âm vang trầm hùng của dây cung bật, bàn tay vỗ, và bánh xe chiến xa lăn rền.
